One of country music’s newest artists is also one of it’s hottest. Ashton Shepherd may not be a household name quite yet, but her first single “Look it Up” is steadily climbing up the country charts and she’s poised to have all the country boys going crazy over her sooner rather than later.

Ashton is full blown country, being raised her whole life in Alabama. At a young age it was clear music was in her future, writing songs before she even turned 10 and learning how to play the guitar in her early teens. Once her skills were honed, Ashton took to the studio to record an album she could pass along when performing at some of the local bars.

According to the bio on her Website, Ashton’s big break came when she won a talent contest she entered in June of 2006. On hand was a record producer who took a copy of her cd, asked her to come to Nashville to lay down some tracks and the rest is history.

Now, Ashton is officially an up-and-comer. Her hit single “Look it Up” is all over the radio, she currently has the no.15 music video on the GAC Top 20 Countdown and she is set to be on the main stage of the CMA Music Festival -- a huge deal considering how briefly she’s been on the country scene. Ashton Shepherd’s talent has a huge ceiling and she’s only beginning to scratch the surface of what she can do.
